Phoned loads of campsites for 4 pitches at Easter but no joy?? Is there any space anywhere? HELP!! Also a few sites have said no group bookings? Never had this problem before, we are 4 famillies with one child each! Is camping that popular now that they can be picky? and also they seem to be charging what they want??
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
As Fred Pontin used to say - BOOK EARLY - my mate says it takes all the fun out of it , BUT when you both work and have limited holidays with an 8 year old who we don,t take out of school , you have to.
We are going to Byreside near Consett in Durham for Easter week, but don't know if they have any room. If you wanted to venture to the Lakes, you could try Herdwick Croft.

Not all of us can . I cannot book my holidays at work till the start of the financial year which is the beginning of April. Till that time i dont know whether i can have extra time with the bank holidays.
Join the Camping and Caravan Club - lots of the CL's and district meets are "no need to book". You won't get the fully monty of facilities but for cheap and cheerful, last minute camping some of them look fine.
We've joined because this year we can't plan when we're getting away as OH is self employed.
We use Silver Birches regularly, HERE . Usually they will go out of their way to find you a pitch. Nice site, we've booked for all BH's, and usually do 6 or 7 weekends at short notice.
