Hi guys.  We want to go to Cornwall this year.  Never been before. Been looking at the map, now I'm even more confused!  We have two kids, 4 and 7.  Can anyone suggest an area.  We love rock pools and beaches.  Thanks

Anywhere in the St Ives Bay area or Mount's Bay area. Loads and loads of pretty little coves and beaches and loads of choices of caravan sites.

When searching site directories the principal towns for St Ives Bay are St Ives, Hayle, Redruth, Camborne and for Mounts Bay, Penzance, Helston, Mullion. Falmouth very good too but a little further away.

North coast very rugged and exposed, south coast softer more sheltered and in many ways prettier. That's just my personal opinion.

Cheers!

Vic

Mevagissey is nice. Pentewan Sands Site was great 30 years ago when I was there last and the reviews on it are still excellent. I do find Cornwall expensive and particularly Pentewan Sands.

Anywhere in Cornwall will fit the bill.  The whole area is geared up for tourists and family holidays.

We have holidayed there for 7 of the last 14 years

As others have said St Ives area is fantastic , great beaches and lots of areas for rock pools. There are coves galore to explore on north and south coasts, providing you do not want promenades full of amusements, go for it but book early it is a very popular area.

I also fully recommend Penmarlam, where we stayed last spring. Lovely site and area.
