Coleby and Harmston are the villages to the South of the airfield, by about a mile. I would assume any of them would be good enough. There is a temporary site appears on the left hand side of the A617 as you travel North to Waddington village, this is about the best view from a camp site of any of them but I dont know the name I am afraid as it only appears for the airshow, perhaps someone else will know.

If you are are member of the CC they do a rally on a school field in Waddington itself, booked it myself last week £7.50p per night.Rally opens Thursday & closes Monday.

The best advice i can offer after that is http://www.lincolnshirecentre.co.uk/Waddington.htm

We are not members of CC but at that price it may be worth joining. Its £40 fpr the weekend at the 2 sites giving prices. Do you know if you can see the show from the site and whether they have EHU.

Hi, John at Trentfield Farm here.

If you look on the Waddington Air Show web site, it gives you details of the nearest sites.

We are about 20 minutes away, and give you back road directions that bring you at the junction of the car park even when its flat out busy!

You need to book early, Waddington gets busier and busier.

Hope to see you in June!

Hi there

We stayed at Barn Farm, right at the gates of the base, last year - it was £40 Thurs to sunday, right on the perimeter fence, with a vintage bus service taking you up to the main exhibition area.

No loos or showers, but you couldnt beat it for location.  No dogs (strictly) either!  This year there seems to be two Barn Farm fields available, one of them gives half the money to the air ambulance, - check out them both!

I have taken the children to lots of different air shows and Waddington is superb, I know you will enjoy it.  Last year, we watched England go out of the cup on a big screen, with the Red Arrows doing their full good weather display, in 80 degree sunshine at Waddington!

You'll have a superb time, but book early!

Bill

Make sure you leave loads of time to get in, the queue stretched for miles last year.

Theres usually a good reduction to be had booking in advance, you don't get in any quicker though.

Thnx for the advice all. The reason why we are looking for a site close by is that we can either get in very early, walking preferable or watch the show from the campsite. I understand it will not be quite the same but i hate all the queues and where everything is too busy so the site may be the better option.

Hi

Last year, we stayed at West Lakes, which was about 20 minutes away.  It's a lovely small site, with very basic facilities, but really friendly, and with some great fishing ponds.  This year, we've booked for the Barn Farm 'field' as per your previous response.  We've paid £40.00 for Thursday to Sunday I think it is, and although we will buy tickets for the actual show, husband's hoping there will be a lot of 'air action' to be seen both prior to, and after the show has finished.

It was a really good show last year, although the baking heat was a bit much - can't complain about that really though !!  We booked on line, and we got to the show quite early, so had no problem getting in - although we could see the queue's of traffic building up from where we were stood.
