Looking for a campsite that is flat, has clean toilets (obviously not immaculate we're camping after all!) and a great children's play area that is reasonably safe to get to E.g the kids (7 and 4) don't have to cross busy roads to get there. Advance planning for the warmer months!
------------- Drop a stone in the pool and wait 'til the ripples calm, put up a tent and wait 'til the husband calms!

Very clean and modern amenities, great play area for kids also outdoor pool and private beech 5 minutes walk away, none of which require crossing any roads.
We've stayed at Cayton Village a few time. Kids (now 13&9)love Scraborough (only about 5miles away). Flat tent araes for longers stayers (ie week) but overnighters or overflow on big tent fiedl at rear. Clean facilitities and kis play area (might be bit bousterous for your 4 year old). the best thing about the site is OH says she could happily stay there on her own as she feals completely safe.

Middlewood Farm Holiday Park at Robin Hoods Bay,kids play area (although they insist on supervision which is a good idea),village a ten minute walk away, rock pools on the beach for the kids.No main road near the site.
Large, flat tent field and good showers plus a nice lady in a van selling breakfasts if you can't be bothered cooking your own!
Plenty to explore in the area by car if you want to get out and about Goatland Heartbeat Country) Whitby,Scarborough all nearby.
