Hi,
I haven't been on here since last year when as a novice camper I was given loads of good advice!
I am looking for a campsite in Dorset for the May half term holiday as my sons wish to visit Monkey World!
I need a site that is quite spacious and very kiddy friendly as I will be bringing 4 boys 11 and under!
If anybody could suggest anywhere that would be great!

We are going to Warham Forest Tourist Park in August that looks very child friendly complete with outdoor pool and play area it is very near to Monkey World at the look of it.

Many thanks for both of your suggestions I have looked at both and they both look great! Perfect for 4 boisterous boys to run around and enjoy some freedom!
I shall ring to see if they have any vacancies.

Have a great time! I took my three boys to Dorset last year and we loved it so much we are going back for a another week this summer. We stayed on the CC site at Crossways which although it was a lovely site and a good base, it wouldn't have much to amuse younger boys (my youngest is 10). We especially enjoyed Monkey World, Corfe Castle, and the beaches at Weymouth and Studland.

I'd rather be camping

Bit further out but Adventure Wonderland (used to be Alice in Wonderland) is good. Just to the north of Bournmeouth but everytime we've been to Doreset it has been worth the drive.

Wareham forest is a great site!  one of our favourites

near the tank museum too, which in peak season do weekly displays when they fire the tanks......young boys would love it!

You must take them to the Tank Museum at Bovington. Check out their website to find out which days they are doing displays and have other things on like dressing up in WW2 costumes etc. as these do make it a bit more special for the kids and are good for photos too. Although it's practically on our doorstep we hadn't taken our kdis there until we had visitors stay with us last Easter who insisted on going. Didn't think my two would enjoy or - or me - but we all did.

A couple of years earlier we went to Monkeyworld but althoguh it does a fab job in rescuing monkeys etc. the kids were quickly bored - one monkey looks much like the next - and only the big play area saved the day. But we felt it was a lot of money to pay to sit and watch the kids on the play structures!  On the other hand we could've spent longer than we did at the Tank Museum as we had to get back by a certain time.

There's a great water park (flumes, slides etc.) called Splashdown, near Poole/Bournemouth which the boys would probably enjoy too.
