I have an Original Coleman Cobra RS which is Green Flysheet with yellow trim, pitches inner first and the inner has mesh side walls with a solif ripstop roof and front wall. Brilliant little tent and I Believe the "RS" suffix was because the Flysheet and inner Roof are all ripstop materials. Had mine around 15-16 years and it's still in fairly regular use.

Hi thank you for your reply, i have not had mine out of the bag properly yet justa a quick look although it is in a red thickish bag with COBRA 2-RS and 200831 written on it and has Duraluminium poles polyester Fly sheet, and nylon inner tent and was sold as excellent condition
Hi do you know what year they were first made and if there are any real problems with this model please.also this too is a pith inner tent first,so when i throw the outer fly sheet over does it too have to be fixed to the two poles, thanks again Brian.

Probably first made around 20 years ago(pure guess) but I believe the first one had a blue flysheet. I've used mine in torrential wind and rain without and sign of leakage or any other issues.
The fly connects to the inner at the four corners by quick connectors with the remaining points pegged out as normal. There are 2 ties on the fly that wrap around and ties to each of the poles but for a quick overnight I never bother attaching unless the weather looks particularly rough.
Best thing to do would be get it out of the bag and erect it in order to satisfy yourself that everything is in order. It should take you less than 30 minutes to erect, fully inspect and then pack away again - it's what these light evenings were designed for

Hi Skaza,
I am a 66yr old man that has been using
The Cobra 2 rs for over 15 hrs.
To put it simply,it is the best tent in terms
Of quality and ruggedness you will not find a better tent.
I have spent 2 weeks once in the Ben Nevis area having climbed ( with ropes) then camped out in storm force winds.
I also did lands end to John 'O' groats with this tent.It is very spacious for 1 person and still ok for 2 men with gear as
we did.
No other tent I have had compares in terms of waterproofness and quality thick material.
Do it-- go buy one and smile.😊
Dave.

Welcome to UKCS & many thanks for your post. The OP only posted in 2017, I expect they’ve long since bought something, but I’m sure someone will find your comments useful.
Sounds like you’ve done some interesting camping too!
