I imagine it would be ok to put the bioethanol in the Trangia fuel bottle. My reason for asking is that I am not sure what kind of seals the bottle has and some fuels can react differently.
Its the trangia bottle with the new safety valve.

I keep mine in a 20 year old .3 liter sigg bottle which is not even designed to carry fuel and have never had a problem with the rubber seal so i doubt very much you will have any problems as your bottle has a fuel grade gasket seal.

Cheers hillbillie, I sort of thought that but thought I would ask. I also have a couple of sigg water bottles which I bought to use on the West Highland Way about 25 years ago! they are bomb proof..

lol they are indeed. i do have a 1 liter sigg i bought must be 30 years ago now,ive been using it for petrol for my coleman cooker since 91 and its still never missed a beat or leaked a single drop.

i'm new to camping and have got a swedish army mess tin as i was going for weight and its the aluminium one as i'm cycle touring.I have tried boiling water using meths and got the soot on the bottom.Will go to b&q as well me thinks.

I tried it and was sort of ambivalent about it to be honest, it has some advantages, but I'm not convinced that its much better than the gas stove I use sometimes.

I still remember the look a woman in the local hardware store gave me though when I bought a five litre bottle of meths. It was something along the lines of "You have a BIG drink problem".

I've got a meth stove made from two carling beer tins, with the pot stand / windshield made from an old sweet corn tin. Which the cooker sits inside. I also have a windshield made of the tin of two tall beer cans simply stapled together and the airholes cut out with a stationery hole punch.
