hi, ok so im going to be going on my first hiking/wild camp soon (well ive tried it a few times on the beach at home and in a few close sites), im all set as far as equipment and check-lists ect.

Im having a little trouble with where to go and how to get there, i was thinking of the lakes but not sure on the routes of how to get there ect, i dont really want to drive would rather take the train or the bus for a bit more scenery, does any one have any suggestions as to location and how to get there, i will be travelling from up north (near Newcastle). So suggestions of easy to access locations by train or bus would be nice even a camp-site thats quite wild would be nice as well.

regards paul.

hi bagget. just how far were you prepared to go. silversands in mallaig  sounds good. west coast of scotland. camp fires on the beach. and cheap too. you camp in the sand dunes. i nearly went there last year. but a huge problem arose. so could not make it. but. friday. 16th april. i may go for the weekend. the lady who runs the place will come and pick you up from the station. if ya going on the 16th april. i could join ya. be company. but i will go by train. as i travel free. ex railway. could meet ya in central station. i live in gateshead. just over the river. 5 mins in a taxi. if you decide to take the car. i could share the fuel costs with ya. save ya a bit of money that way. my son wont go camping. yet he likes the outdoors. oh well. let me know what ya think about fuel saving if ya use the car. and when you are actualy going. cheers.
