Finally decided that I could do with a smaller tent for solo trips.  Much as me and OH love my trusty Nallo2 GT, it does seem a lump to carry when solo.  Tried out a Laser Comp. but wasn't that impressed - was a bit tight for my lanky frame.

Am torn between Vaude Power Lizard UL and Tarptent Scarp1 and wondered if anyone here had experience of either. The Vaude is lighter but more expensive...that said money doesn't get anyone far on the hills...

I have just been through the same dilema in downsizing from my Quasar.

Much research and deliberation and driving the Mrs up the wall with my "Tent fetish and Nerdity", there was only one.

Hilleberg Akto.

There is a small thread down the page for your info.

Certainly I have no regrets.

I'm already a Hilleberg owner so do know just how good their gear is.  The Akto is a fine tent but I am being deliberately gram counting with this purchase.  This will be a tent for wild camping in some very remote areas so am trying for the lightest possible pack weight.

My current options in weight order are: Vaude Power lizard - 1kg, Tarptent Scarp 1 - 1.25kg or the Akto - 1.5 kg.  The Akto being the most expensive and Scarp 1 being the cheapest despite having to order from the US!

The akto and scarp have been around long enough to get a good rep.  The Power Lizard is new on the market so seems unproven - 1kg though...!
