Can't watch the vid as I'm at work, have seen pics of it though. It looks pretty good. I've got a Honey Stove from Backpacking Lightwhich can be configured to hold a Trangia in a similar way. It is also a woodburning stove so I would probably prefer that. I'd be interested in the price of this though.

hi.can you tell me a bit more about the triangia. it sure looks good. so what is the fuel it uses. and what adapter if any would i need if i decide to buy one. also how big is the fuel container.

It's an alcohol stove superpup, and that means methylated spirits (approx 90% ethanol / 10% methanol) for the most part in the UK.

You can't burn alcohol in any stove other than those designed for the purpose. The fuel container is just a bottle of whatever size is appropriate to your trip. I take about 100ml per day for backpacking.

That triangle stove will almost certainly need a windshield. If you are really trying to cut weight, there are other lighter options than the brass Trangia burner:

seen 20GBP mentioned as RRP - that does not include the burner though. OT How do you rate the honey stove ? toying with the idea of making a small wood/wood gas stove

the fuel bottle and standard trangia meths burner do not connect together, you pour fuel from the bottle into the burner and then light it. Gas and multi fuel alternates are available that are connnected to their respective fuel cannisters. Using a gas or MF conversion in this ultra-light sheild would kind of defeat the purpose of it IMO

Yeah I really like the Honey Stove. I thinks it's probably expensive for what it is but it is good. A bit fidly to put together, the Vargo Woburner is probably beter in that respect.

PS: You can see the Honey Stove in action in the pic of the Tadpole in my sig. Not th closest up photo mind but I wasn't trying to capture it.

thanks for that, made a woodstove/woodgas at the weekend out of a 10 pint beer barrel - it is a little on the large side for backpacking but will try it out this weekend on a trip to the lakes
