Val if you are lookin for a decent rucksack I can recommend a Eurohike Pathfinder 65l from Blacks not very glam but will last you for years and very roomy. I've had one for about 14 - 15 years and just had to replace it - £24.99 It's been used on very long hikes ie West Highland Way, Offas Dyke etc and various treks abroad
------------- Get me my dust pan and brush, we're going camping!
I was in Sports Direct today and saw that they had a Wild Country Aspect 2 tent on sale. I didn't realise just how big the carrying bag is for one of these tents, its at least twice the length of the bag for my Argos Pro-Action Hike Lite and a fair bit bigger than even my Gelert Eiger 2. It certainly made me rethink picking one up in future, unless the tent can be compressed into a smaller sack it was quite a large object to carry around.
Everywhere I looked said the packed size for the Aspect 2 was 40 cm x 20 cm, the same as the Gelert Eiger 2. Could they have mixed it up with another Wild Country tent?
It was a lot larger than 40cm long, since that's the length of the pack for my current tent, it was honestly more like twice that size. I remember thinking that this was rather large for a backpacking tent but if its a mistake its a strange one because they had two of them, both labelled as an Aspect 2 with the right picture for that tent.
It wasn't a spur of the moment honest! Been lusting after one since November. Sold a couple of tents last week (including the bear lake) so the tent fund had money in it! I'm sure I could have paid a couple of bills instead but it seemed unfair!
