Any hints, ideas, recommendations gratefully received!
Keep to the footpaths and don't tread on any wild plants or rare insects. Wear ankle guards to protect from snake bites and keep your trousers tucked into your socks to keep the rats out. Don't sit on any ant nests.

I'd like to come but I've already booked two camping trips for April and May and I'm not sure I could afford another so soon after. I'm not much of an experienced hiker though, still learning myself (but aren't we all!)

I don't know to be honest, its quite expensive for me to get down there. It would also take take 3-4 hours to get anywhere near that area by train I'm afraid because I live up this neck of the woods and don't drive.
Is the date set for the 25th? If so, I'd be grateful for some details (where to meet up and campsites etc.) I'm a fully paid up member of the dawdling fraternity!
Do you intend to meet first, camp at one site, leave the tents etc there and then go lightweight to camp overnight somewhere else, then back the following day to the "base camp?" sort of thing. Or do you intend to camp at two different sites with the same kit?
Ecky thump! I seem to have confused myself there! By the way, I bought the tent you were looking at. It's not a bad size for a lightweight tent 7' x 4' 6" and just under 4' high in the middle, with 2 big porches. It's nowhere as big as your SL5 though...that looks cavernous!
Myself I am at present unemployed after redundancy so your meet is to far away for me. I live in Greater Manchester. Single 48 year old miserable git
I am on some of the walking forums, which I enjoy but after experiencing back stabbing, I am afresh looking for any local walkers that enjoy a occasional camping to.

Unfortunately I live over in Liverpool so I'm not really close enough to join you on any local walks. If you're thinking of hiking in this neck of the woods though I can recommend a few places.
