The tarptent can only be purchased direct from Henry Shires - the maker. It cost about GBP240 but is vry much dependent on exchange rates.
Have been out in some inclement weather but nothing too bad - did seal the seams straight after I got it.
Not sure what article you have read as I haven't wriiten anything myself... it is a very good tent but the brand new Terra Novas do take weight to a whole new level - belive they now have a 1 man tent at just over 0.5kg.
