Do many of you use a hammock and tarp? I was converted from a ground-dweller to tree-dweller last year. However....when I need to...i`ll take the tent. It all depends on where Im going.

Just done 5 days backpacking in the pyrenese....amazing experience.

Friend put his hammock up on our trip last week and let me lay in it for a while...Trying to convince me tarp and hammock combined would be lighter than a tent and SIM...And more comfortable to sleep in than the floor of a tent...

Can see all the benefits... But still dithering over getting one...And will dither for a while yet...Till I work up the courage to use one....

Jelboy.

Tarp and bivi for me, nick the tent. I don't feel I'm quite ready for the hammock just yet. I'm too much of a ground hog, though I suspect that it's way superior in wooodland.

I'm a bit of a photo junkie, so if you have any of your set up, I would love to view them?

hi
i'm a member of bcuk a bushcraft forum and used to solo tent but the best nights sleep i ever have is in my hennessy hammock which i've had a side zip put in it.dd hammocks seem to be the choice of the day with a decent size tarp for protection and admin space.
