We've just bought 4 Hunka XL bivvy bags from Alpkit.com . Ordered wensday received today the Mrs is in hers in the middle of the living room . They should be ideal for what we want . Youngest Carnt wait to go bivving . Some where on the Snowdon range this coming half term if the weather is reasonable . I'm hoping for some good snow this winter so we can go snow holing

We've got good Snugpac 4 season sleeping bags . Bivvi bags should give us more options while walking cycling kayaking . We might get a Rig 7 tarp or something else .
I have to say we went for Hunka XL as a few of the reviews suggested that the smaller Hunka was a little tight and as Alpkit say the XL is designed with bigger winter bags and clothing in mind . Our Snugpac's are big bags but there's loads of room so an Arctic down bag would easley fit .
I wish I was brave(young) enough to try the likes of Bivvy bags combined with a tarp on my back packing trips...
No matter how light I go....I sometimes struggle on the way to the campsite with the load on my back...Indeed on my last trip the campsite owner took pity on me by taking my kit to the site for me (No room for me in the car) and I was never so grateful to anyone in my life as I was KN*****D!!!!
On the same trip...The bus stopped to pick up a young lad...All he had with him was a small Pack a Tarp and a hammock slung from his belt..."Way to go" was my 1st thought..."Too Old for that" was my 2nd thought.....
Jelboy.
