Hi

Looking for a bit of advice on drinking water. I'm going to be away for a couple of days in Lowland Scotland so.I'm a bit dubious about taking water from the river and just boiling it.

I have looked at an Aquapure Traveller as an improvement.

Looking forward to some advice

Cheers

Have you had a look at the Drinksafe products? I had one of their Traveltap bottles - just like a normal drinking bottle but it contains a filter in the lid. I've filled it up from streams and had no problems. The other advantage is not having to carry water if you're out walking. I must get another one as someone recently dropped my filter lid down a waterfall, never to be seen again.

Not cheap but when you work out how much water it can filter its going to last you ages and save a lot of weight

Especially with all the money we charge you lot for the water you have been getting for free all these years. Lifes great without a water meter

Water meter what's that lol

We only charge for water once the oil runs out. Right?

And it gets stolen as well

Take beer and a couple of kit Kats. You won't need water.
Whereabouts in the lowlands? If it is a fast running burn off a hill with no dead sheep, I'd just boil the water.

I boil water all the time in your situation. It can be time consuming but it depends on your timetable on any given trip. You do have to check the lay of the land though.... The sheep etc. Those bottles are good and are the future; as more companies jump on board the price will drop!
