for a present for my husband

Where is my friend SpritBurner who knows about these things.

Sprit - you may remember that I thought about it before and he is a gear snob, but, camping after a long day of cycling would only happen on weekends away for me or on some nights on a longer trip .... in warmish, nice weather.

This is incredibly cheap atm, weighs the same as the Hillebergs and I don't want to spend Hilleberg money as my aim will always be for 50% B&Bs, Hotels, etc.

We will need to buy lightweight bags for my daughter and me before we go and new sleeping pads. Have everything else we need for this.

I suppose I want you to tell me you think it is OK

, looks fine for the £, I know it is inner first but I would be very fair weather and if I had been cycling 40 miles a day in the rain I would be looking for a B&B.

Still here trying to bolster the backpacking campers! The link's dead but I hope you got it! From the link it looks like it was a Terra Nova Trisar 3 Grade A? I've not had recent experience of there tents - my Super Quasar was late 1990's & I did have a (then Wild Country) 2 person Trisar back in the early 90's. It was a goood tent & I've had good service from the company although I hear mixed reviews.

I reckon it should be fine! The inner will be lightly proofed & if you're reasonably quick putting it up in a downpour you'll be fine! It be nice & quite in a hoolie!

Oops, I must have bought the last one and the link has gone, yes it is for £150.

So do you think that will do then Ewen? Mainly for family weekends to the beach etc, 45miles away and we would do it on any/every spare weekend if the sun was shining, picking up our daughter after school on Friday on the tandem.

My husband will be shocked because I said B&B s only for 2016.

If anyone spots any good deals on pads and bags please let me know, my husband has his stuff from his backpacking/skiing days but I don't, only car camping gear.

Can I just ask about pack size? Only 3.3 kg but pack size is listed as 45 x 18 but surely there is a dimension missing?

I have bought my husband front and back of these panniers to replace his ancient carradice ones for Christmas, doesn't look like it will fit as listed although surely we can separate it and squash it in?

I believe the Trisar is pitched inner first, some pepople prefer flysheet first or all in one pitching.

I did know that VangoMan, don't mind it really tbh in view of our plans - with a child we won't be doing anything too extreme and I decided after reading a few reviews after posting that it would be fine (for the cost of 2 nights in a B&B).

Thats good, it is a good tent. I had the 2 berth model a few years ago. Sorry I see you had mentioned it was inner first at the end of your post.
It goes up quickly so if its raining just use flysheet lying over inner as its being erected and held down with a peg incase it takes off.Enjoy!!

It is here already which isn't bad considering I ordered it at 7pm on Tuesday - looks fine, absolutely new, no idea why it is a Grade A.

The box was massive though

, and I thought I must have made a mistake but thankfully not.

Easily split between bikes and bags. Nice colour, I dislike most things other than green in nylon tents.
