Hi i have just bought a Coleman cobra 2 tent in excellent condition and was thinking about wildcamping but there seems to be no wildcamping around my area which is stoke on trent and Newcastle under lyme and it needs to be this area because i use my Electric bike for my camping trips not that i have done any wildcamping but firstly my electric bike will only give me a round trip of 25/30 miles and also
i have two cats so has well as my neighbour dropping in to make sure they are both ok,i usaly ride back for a few hours to make sure they are ok and i know this sounds a lot of trouble to go through but i like camping,so if anyone knows of wildcamping in my area i would be very grateful, best wishes Brian

Your nearest wild area is the White Peak area of the Peak District. Wild camping in the Peaks is slightly sensitive and actively prevented in some areas. Nevertheless, there are some wild enough spots in the White Peak if you are discreet. Having a bike makes it harder to get away from the road of course. Its generally considered good practice to be out of sight of a road and as high as possible, ideally above 1500ft. Obviously you'd avoid anything that is clearly cultivated land to avoid upsetting the landowner.

Unfortunately the White Peak is a 60 mile round trip. You'd probably be better using the camp site search to look for tent-only sites within range, e.g.

Tent only sites, Staffs

Hi and thanks for the reply ,and yes it is difficult trying to find somwhere close to home to camp, but i did find a beautiful camp site at mow cop which was only about 6 miles away from home but this was not wild camping and the hills were amazingly steep and i am not suprized that they call it the killer mile and i have a electric bike and only got half way up and had to turn back and go up the other side of the mow which only half killed me, but a really good holiday camping site with beautiful view of staffordshire ,the camp site was called castle camping uk and a toilet block that was 5 star and brilliant owners ,Brian.
