Anyone got/tried one of these. Oh has suggested I get a lighter tent just for me. Something to do with my knees. It is a kilo lighter than the cobra with same max headroom. Birthday coming up...
I have heard it can flap a bit in high winds but it has two entrances which is handy and is only 1.3 kilos. Head height is important as is price, pack size and weight. Any suggestions other than the vango sub 1.3 kilos and about £200 or less?

Well. I remember someone on here mentioned trekkertents in Perth. Their stealth 1.5 ticks all the boxes except I don't always use trekking poles and it has a mesh inner. However, another company in Wales makes specific poles for the stealth.
It reminds me of my Saunders and is very light, even with poles and pegs.
It looks like I will be getting another tent....but it takes about 5 weeks to deliver so won't be using it until Spring... Maybe.

Aye - I've got their Edge. Was eyeing up the Stealth 1.5 for bikepacking as my Edge needs trekking poles but have helped out teen son who was saving for a car by buying his Macpac Microlight off him (I bought it for him s/h so have paid for it twice!) He's not really a camper & when he is he'll use a popup (festivals) or borrow one of the family geodesics. It weighs a chunk more but still not bad on the bike & often I'll be using bivvy bag & tarp.
Thanks. I have it on watch. I wasn't going to go for the rear door mod as it seems a bit pointless and needless extra weight.

My wild country zephyros 1 is a cracking tent and i have camped in frost and rain with no issue's. Head height might not be the highest. As for flapping about in the wind on sleepless nights yet. if pitched taut no problems. It's the same sort of design as the Vango. My Force Ten Nitro is brilliant. It is a older model but the build quality and material are excellent so hopefully they still are. Was going to get the F10 but 60 quid brand new for the zephyros 1 on fleebay was a no brainer for me.

Got a helium 1. Weighs just over a kilo. Enough room for my mat, rucksack and can sit up in it. It fits in my pack and compresses to a ridiculous size. Tried it out in the mountains last night.

Lovely looking spot Ewen! Being right handed I think I'd struggle a bit with my usual lazy method of cooking while in my sleeping bag while lying on my side.
I usually cook away from the tent. Luckily I am comfy using both hands. It os a lovely spot. Lots of evidence of quad and scrambler use even though there is a sign prohibiting it as it is an SSI. Also evidence of fire pits. There is a forestry track almost to it...
Not a place to take your dog. My tent is just outside the national park by a metre. The farmer who owns the land shoots dogs on sight. None allowed on his land as there are so many sheep. Irresponsible dog owners have spoilt it for the rest of us. He is very welcoming to walkers though.
A beautiful spot and peaceful during the week.

Midges were oot so had the smidge hood on.
A few good spots that had been grazed by sheep and deer so perfect for pitching a tent.
The helium needs a level pitch. Too easy to pitch squint. A wee marker for middle would help. It is silnylon so perceptible for temp changes. A bit of guy checking was need be for bedtime. Temps were high. A bit sunburnt now. Got another camp at a different lough planned before the temps plummet. These are all high mountain lochans so can be a bit chilly.

Wow what a spot Ewen. And tent the bizz. My WC packs down very small when i pop out the 2 small end poles. Was very surprised really. Was packing it away after an airing and thought about popping in a compression sack. So got my sleeping bag one and had a bash. Can say i was well chuffed with the result. Hopefully getting a vespa next month so will give me some freedom to go further away with the camping. Trouble is if i find a spot like that i doubt i'd come home.

Yeah. I took out the end poles and just bundled it in an compressed it down. Tiny. Looking at a different lochan over the hill for the next camp.
