Hey all! I am a student studying MSc Strategic Marketing at Imperial College Business school. My team and I are working on a module to learn more about the potential of waterless showering solutions.
We would love if you could spend 3-4 minutes of your time to help us determine what the needs and pain points exist when it comes to your camping journey (your results will remain anonymous). Thank you very much for taking the time to complete our survey! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1kGiUksOaELgyAVC4kFFXXESC0fpM3d7nhnKtDaAcsnI/prefill
Tried the survey, gave up because I ended up down a rabbit hole with questions about fragrance & texture that aren’t relevant to me but I couldn’t say so.
Waterless, sounds like a problem waiting to happen. Wipe wipes scattered across beauty spots. Camping fields turned in to rubbish tips.
Now, Reusable, sustainable, that's where we need to be.
Fragrance has little impact if you are sitting in a fly tip you and yours have created.

Hi Juliet ? Are you a camper yourself ? I take it you are aiming this survey at backpacking wild campers yes ? I would guess most forum users here stop on campsites & use the site toilet/ shower facilities. There may well be a more wild camping type forum you could post your survey on for a better response.
Gave up when it asked for my e-mail address, sorry!

She only wants your email if you want contact you can still do the survey. I done it. Juliet. You need to post some more & interact & ask questions. You will probably learn more that just looking at completed surveys.
You might find more comments about “waterless showering” if you search the camping or backpacking forums.
Wet wipes are ok in an emergency but I used the old “bowl of warm water & a flannel” technique in my early days of tent camping, still do now if the site has no showers. Uses less water than a shower, even a submariner’s one (wet yourself, turn off shower, wash, then rinse).
Hey everyone. Thank you so much for all the comments and your responses to the survey
I am not a camper myself but some of my groupmates do go camping occasionally. We want to create something that could keep campers refreshed as if they showered (but with less water pollution!), and therefore have included some questions regarding fragrances.
I will go onto more camping forums and reach out to more people. Thanks all again for your comments
Well who knew there was another way to keep clean without water or wet wipes, as an old fashioned type camper it's always been from cat lick wash to portable shower passing through streams, rivers / basins / buckets with holes / solar bags / garden sprayers / battery pack portable showers.
Now I hold my hand up and ask what are the other other options.
Yes I have wet wipes and anti bac hand wash in the car. Both produce waste which find themselves appearing along with other signs of humans on what should be a grand day out walking the Hills, Peaks, Dales.
As for waste left behind, if you don't take it then it's not going to be left.
Lets keep our green and pleasant land, just that.

For backpacking I was going to try the bed bath wipes but they still weigh a bit. I'm off on a 3 night hike so will pack the hand sanitiser and have a shower and change of base layer at the campsite I'm finishing off at.
No real point in having a wash apart from the feet and hands as will just get manky again anyway. Main thing is keep the feet in good nick and the hands clean to avoid any nasties. Wilderness wash in a wee bottle helps.

sorry but what do you mean by water pollution? water is much the best and least polluting way to keep clean surely?
