I use the Eurohike Backpacker210TS. At only 2.3kgs it`s a light and easilly erected 2 man tent. But I find if your doing alot of walking it is just ok for 1 person and luggage.
Have you seen the Terra Nova LaserLite, 1-2 man at 1.2kg (http://www.terra-nova.co.uk/terra/lightweight.shtml#laserlite)? I can't give any practical experience (just doing the research myself prior to purchase) but have heard good things about Terra Nova, and this does seem to be a fantastically light 3 season tent.
We have a Robens Black Shrimp 3 which we bought for backpacking, there are 2 of us though and we can split the weight between us, would be a bit heavy for you if you are solo. Would recommened Robens tents for quality and if you click on this link you can view most of there models.
For more lightweight tents have a look here, bit more expensive but they are lighter tents.
I've got a coleman epsilon 3 which I bought for backpacking / cycle camping on my own. It's labelled a 3 man tent (for bean poles maybe!) but it's light enough to put in a pannier or a rucksack too at 3kg. I went for the '3 man' epsilon as I wanted to go camping with my 2 little girls aswell some day, but if you only to go on your own, there is the epsilon 2 or the cobras etc in the coleman range which are well under £75 and have a good rep in the budget section of lightweight(ish) backpacking tents.
regards
------------- apologies in advance as i know nothing about this outdoor lark
I've got a few tents for different uses. I often use a Eurohike 210TS when hiking on my own. Although it's a cheap tent, it is actually very good quality and easy to carry. I've used mine in winter and it's stood up to the weather, no problem.
I have a Hilleberg Akto for solo use - 1.5K and a Macpac Minaret for a duo - 2.4 K. Both are excellent tents and are pretty much bomb proof. They are what you might term "reassuringly expensive" though. However I find that it is a pleasure using really good kit that you can rely upon which to me adds to the experience.
Many thanks for help everyone. Got a few more ideas now plus a couple of websites I hadn't see before. Did a search on Coleman Epsilon and found this place which has loads of tents http://hq.outdoorgear.co.uk - some are quite reasonable and would do for the amount of times I am going to get out. Don't intend to camp up mountains but on small sites so don't need anything too extreme. This one looks good at £64.99 don't you think (only 980 grams with an HH of 3000) ?
Doesn't the fact that it's single skin make it a lot less warm than a double skin? But, I guess it doesn't matter too much if you're only looking to use it in warm weather!
Condensation may also be more of a problem with a single skin tent. No experience personally in a single skin, but in both large and small tents I've camped in with an inner I find that you wake up in the morning and the condensation has dripped onto the top of the inner where it is contained (as it's water repellent). With a single skin it would drip directly on you. Might be worth considering.
Not sure if it applies to modern tents but when we had an old single skin canvas tent, as kids, you couldn't touch the sides as water would come in there.

That doesn't apply with synthetic tents - you'll just get damp from condensation if you touch the sides.
Went for the Coleman Epsilon 2 in the finish. Went up the Lakes with it last weekend and have to say I was very pleased with it. Easy to pitch/take down, packs into it's bag again and very functional. I especially like the fact the side opens up to form a 2nd door. Wouldn't like to share with anyone else though - it is a 2 man tent providing you both lie completely still in straight lines and don't take much gear !
