A few days ago I ventured out with Pud The Wonder Dog on our first solo trip. We didn't travel too far, staying at Lower Hill Farm near Much Wenlock in Shropshire.
I recently bought a tent that I'm confident pitching on my own and after reading an old topic thread on ukcampsite about women camping alone I wanted to give it a try. I loved setting everything up just the way I wanted and it was so peaceful.
The view from the tent was beautiful. Pitched on the highest level of the campsite you can see from The Wrekin to the start of the South Shropshire Hills
Once everything was set up it was time for Pud and I to explore Wenlock Edge. The large wood is national trust land and can be accessed from the campsite.
I had been a bit nervous about camping alone until I got to the campsite but I can honestly say I had a really nice peaceful day.
Looks nice and peaceful but tip No.1...never pitch directly underneath trees because branches can fall down and even small twigs can pierce a hole in your tent, plus lots of other rubbish, bird poo, sticky sap etc; can fall down and stain your lovely new tent. Also, even after it has stopped raining, it still continues to rain big raindrops underneath a tree until it stops dripping.

I am sure you now can't wait for your next trip
Thanks Bob yes I'm definitely looking forward to going again! You can't really tell from the photos but the area I had to pitch on was a narrow terrace which meant I couldn't avoid the trees - but did provide a great view

Hopefully you had an enjoyable time and are wondering why you had any tremors of nerves camping solo. Well done you and happy camping.
I did have an enjoyable time thanks and felt recharged by the peace and quiet. Now I've done it once I'll definitely go again
