I stayed at the Old Oaks last september for a week. they seem to have thought of everything and the new shower/toilet block would put many a hotel to shame. Loved the home made cake, two different flavours eevry day, was difficult to decide which i wanted so had to have both on occassion17 Immaculately kept grounds. Loads of walks straight from site.Thoroughly recommended.

The site looks lovely, we are planning a camping trip to Glastonbury in early September, looks like this site could be a contender!

OP,

I just noticed that you were using an electric cooler in the CA, and the cable came out into the CA via the Main Pod door.

I intend to use my TE cool box in the CA too, and have planned to route the cool box lead from the pod where the sockets will be situated, via the EHU entry point, and then under the mud flap of the CA.

I appreciate that the lead is not made of special outdoor use cable, however, I believe the risk of accident for the short section being outside is relatively low.

What do you and others think?

Or shall I request for another EHU entry point to be added by the main pod door?

DK

We loved Old Oaks too..just wish they had electric grass pitches as the hardstanding was rather chunky..but fantastic site with 5 star facilitys..and by the way..there is showers in the old block..not quite as posh as the new ones but still very good..will have to go back one day..when Geoffs up to hill walking again.

Hi there DK. The cable was for me kettle as that's a passive cool box. However, in future I will have the EHU cable entering the CA and then have an extension running into the main tent through the door.

I see zero issues with this.

we looked at this site last year online and I know this is going to sound weird, but we thought it looked a little bit too " perfect " lol silly. we're planning a trip maybe late next year or the year after, to do a road trip from cornwall, up to the highlands of Scotland, planning on camping at various places along the way, this is a possible contender if we pass that way, need to buy a map and plan it and get my geography right

I'm a happy camper : )
