Need to see photos of bro's home made tent!
Haha! Yes, we're fine and back home now. The winds weren't as bad as predicted. Photos to follow.
So I've finally managed to see your photos. Stunning! Glad you got some good weather as well. A lot of the places you visited are familiar from our trips during the last three years so I can really appreciate where you were when you took those shots. Last time we were at Horgabost we took the 5m bell and all the stuff away up almost to the far end overlooking the beach. What a job that was, even with a trolley!
What a lot of other places you managed to see as well. Amazing!
My little granddaughter is on Stornaway at the moment Jim visiting her great grandparents. If its anything like your pics she is going to love it. She loves them beaches.
Geoff, she wont be disappointed! We didnt have enough time to fully explore Harris and Lewis so there are beaches there we never got the chance to see.
My wife and I purchased our first motorhome earlier this month and I don't know if is because of that, but now I'm seeing them everywhere. It seems that up here in the Highlands is very popular with MHs.
We are looking forward to many nights away amongst the glens and mountains and on the coast. I know of many secluded spots from my photographic work up here, where now, instead of spending an hour or so, we can now spend all day and night to catch the sun, wind, rain, storms and grandeur of it all.
Thank you Jim for sharing these photographs with us.
Jim, did you get an island rover ticket or pay each ferry individually? Only reason for asking is that I'd probably have to go from Oban to Barra (it'd take me as long as up to Uig).

Fickle, just noticed your post, I looked at a rover ticket but it worked out just as cheap for us booking and paying for each leg of the trip individually. I think it depends on what you want to do because the rover tickets are quite restrictive in as much as they are set routes. If you are sailing from Oban, check the days for sailing as they are not as often as from Uig or Ullapool. We never did Barra and I am beginning to wish we included it now! Ah well good excuse to go back! The Calmac website is full of all the information you need on timetables and prices once you work out exactly where you want to go!
Thanks, Jim, my problem living on Mull is that I have to start with a ferry! The rover is open on all routes (altho' obviously have to book some) so potentially (timetable permitting), it would be easier to go Barra - Lochboisdale upwards than Uig - not well explained but hope you follow!!
