We've just returned from a few days blissful days away to distract my OH from career decisions. Just what the therapist ordered
We stayed at Bailiff's Cottage Certificated Site(review already posted)near Woodbridge; tranquil, a warm welcome to match the weather, good food and good company.
After recently completing my MA I also needed a break and, as we're not off to France for money reasons this year, our short but sweet outing was a treat.
It was lovely Sarahir thank you; I grew up near Dover so miss the sea especially when it's HOT HOT HOT). Mind you, Cotswolds aren't exactly shabby either!
Ah is Bawdsey Quay near Bawdsey Manor? On Sunday night we took a drive to Felixstowe and saw a beautiful building my oh told me was Bawdsey Manor :) If so we have have been just over the water from you
We were just across the river and up the estuary a bit: we didn't get as far as the Manor - it's now an international school. We also took the ferry across to Felixstowe Ferry and back (where you were) but resisted the fish and chips.
It is a lovely spot, timeless.
The Suffolk beer's not bad either; we bought a box of Adnam's back from the cellar shop in Woodbridge. There's not a lot left now
When we go home to see the folks, we always hanker for Adnams (not the same in bottles from the supermarket I'm afraid) and decent fish and chips! The batter is always so soggy here.
My hubby has an old poster of the brewery on his office wall! Aldburgh, Southwold, Dunwich and Walberswick are all still relatively unspoilt places. We will be going again in September to see our families.
