Lovely to follow your trip, and to see some sunshine. If you don't mind me asking, why do you not take a little longer over the journey, with more rest days, once you have found the sun and a bit of warmth? Are the overnight stopping places unattractive or unsafe, or are you on a schedule to be somewhere much nicer!
Keep up the good work, it's really inspiring, maybe one day..................
Hello minicamper2001!
Very glad you are enjoying the trip.
I think the answer to your question is quite simple. having driven the same route for a number of years even when we were going to either Spain or Portugal for the winter months you get to see a number of places as on your first few times you plan in rest days as those places look interesting and require 'exploring' which we did, but now to spend time especially with the very cold days that we have encountered on the last few times when we have travelled South, then you just want to get there as quickly as possible, but for me it does not mean 400 miles per day which we see some people covering!
We used to use campsites all the way down but in France especially they are few and far between so we found Aires that will accept 'TinTents' (Caravans) and use them as they are quiet at this time of year and we have never so far had any problems staying on them.
I do put a comprehensive plan together for our tour as I will not stay in one place for the time we are here unlike a number of Campers who just come to Morocco for the sunshine and spend 3 to 6 months sitting outside on a campsite on the Atlantic Coast, we like to tour the country and see the scenery, meet the people who make the Brits very welcome, and enjoy the Moroccan food.
I really hope you do make it and that visit is not to far away as we met 2 other couples of Brits who came over for their first time and so far are still here!
------------- According to Winnie the Pooh .... “Planning is what you do before you do it so that when you do it you don't get mixed up".
