Hi Tracy,Looks like we are destined not to get on the same site at the same time.
We have had to cancel, i have been diagnosed with two tumors on my pancreas. This has been ongoing for 6 months and has been pretty stressful.I was told 2 weeks ago in Christies hospital, i would have to have my pancreas, spleen and part of my bowel removed.Totally life changing stuff. But some good positive news had an appointment with the surgeon on Monday. He is quite positive he can cut them out without me losing anything.
Going for a biopsy in Manchester Royal this Friday, and will hear about op soon after.Hopefully next year back to normal we have booked cloverfields for end of May.
Sorry to hijack your post.
Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that. The reason we cancelled in May was due to my mam being rushed into hospital, we thought she had an infection but she ended up having emergency surgery after they did a scan and found a tumour in her bowel. My mam is 84 and she has made an amazing recovery, she had her follow up last week and was told the op had gone as well as it possibly could have with all of the tumour being removed and no spreading, although they did offer her chemo just in case there was anything not visible to the naked eye, but she has declined that. She had gone down to 7 stone but has put about a stone and a half back on. She's back to doing all her own housework and cooking and has started walking to the shops again. Today, just over 12 weeks since her op we went out for lunch and I happily watched her eat a 10oz ribeye steak and fries, before the op she was surviving on practically nothing.
Whilst this must be a terrible time for you, at least you have some positive news. I hope that everything goes really well for you and that we do eventually meet up one day! Take care x
