Brilliant trip report Mucker and interesting that the area was very cycle friendly which has given me ideas for when we start looking at places for this year. We are going to do eastern France and back up through Burgundy which we love. Is the site in Frejus the one Francais goes to? It looks very nice. Might have to give it a go.

Julie: De Vaudois has toilet seats, really flat pitches and dedicated cycle lanes.
Mucker: is Madame Gonzales still rushing around or has Phillipe taken over completely?

This report was originally from Sept ‘16... but we did return last September too... and yes, Madame was still rushing around, with Phillipe taking over translation duties for the likes of moi!
I have neither dog nor trailer, but I’d struggle to describe such a set up as “unsafe”, from what we witnessed, and where we cycled. Probably safer than a side-car, that’s for sure!
There were loo seats, but you need your own “wodge” of paper... and thanks to Stuart for that particular phrase, which I’m happy to steal from him!
I wouldn’t describe the pitches as “really flat”, certainly those along the left hand (roadside) rear row. They were a bit bumpy, as I recall mentioning in my initial report? (Currently on hols in Spain, on mobile, and really can’t be ar5ed to check back! LOL). Still do-able though, even with a long tent.
Was a lot flatter on the rear right row, when we returned last year.
...And of course, the price you pay for the far superior weather, the more relaxed attitude to camping, and the cheaper pitch fees, is a lack of lush green grass. That was initially a concern of mine if I’m honest... but nothing a nice new breathable awning carpet couldn’t sort out!
Adios, amigos.
