Merry Xmas to one and all,

This is how we did it today, we had all our four children and partners along with our seven grandchildren around for a big Xmas get together.

To see the joy and happiness on the faces of the kids as they played and shared the special time together was just brilliant. At one time (possibly more) I had tears coming down my cheeks as I watched the loves of my life playing together so carefree and happy.

I'm now absolutely stuffed as I spent nearly 3 hours in the pool (two sessions) with the billy lids climbing, splashing, dunking and just having fun with Pa. I was the only adult that went in and had an absolute ball sharing that special time with them all. Water temp was 30 degrees and the whole day couldn't have been better in any way.

Here are a few pics taken just before they all arrived, calm before the storm.

Regards to you all,

Aussie Col..

Brilliant photos mate! Glad you had a great time. We are off to spend most of the day with our grandchildren soon, we have 7 too, but it won't be in those weather conditions. At least it is nice and sunny this morning, but it's only 5 degrees here at the moment.

Happy Christmas from another Col here in Britain.

Best Regards,
Colin

Reminds me of my time in the navy when I spent Christmases in the tropics. In a few years time with global warming it will be like that here in the UK...better get the swimming pool built!

Happy New Year to all down under!

Happy New Year Aussie Col and may 2020 bring you many more adventures in your camping trips.

Horrific and Harrowing to hear what is happening to huge tracts of land, such beauty, and wildlife devastated .

Thanks all for your wishes and thoughts.

We have just arrived home from a cut short holiday due to the fires etc. They are absolutely devastating horrific and about to get worse I'm afraid. I will make a separate post/thread with a few pics from our trip shortly and thoughts on what is probably the worst catastrophe that Australia has ever faced.

Sadly it will have world wide ramifications as at the moment they are about 5 times the size of the Amazon Rainforest tragedy and still growing with new fires starting and the existing ones growing. The loss of wildlife, habitat and species is beyond comprehension and may never recover.

Sorry for the sad news.

I'm happy to discuss further if any are interested.

Regards from Col

Col, yes, please do share. It is hard to get an idea of the scale of it all on a little island like ours here in the UK, and how ordinary life is being affected.

Horrifying to hear of the deaths over the last few days. The 4000 people who had been trapped in the beach at Mallacoota...

Please do keep us informed Col. I'm not sure how widespread the problem is, but I have relatives across the other side of Australia, near Perth. We had a card from them just before Christmas, so I know they were ok then.
