Just back from a break at the CAMC site in Banchory on Deeside. The site was fully booked but we had no problem in finding a good pitch. The site is well prepared for 'social distancing' in the communal areas, with no more than 2 male and 2 female allowed in the toilet block at any one time. Only one family group at the washing area at any time.

There is a dish with two wrist bands in sterilising liquid outside the doors. You take a band, go in and replace the band when you exit. If there are no bands, you queue until one is replaced. Seems to work well, but sometimes you can see a free band, set out for the loo, only for someone to dash across the site and grab it before you get there!

Took the bus through Ballater and on to Braemar. Bus was virtually empty going, but busier returning. Passenger number were limited to half capacity. Both towns were busy, though it was freezing in Braemar ( 9 deg).   It was nice to see the footbridge at Cambus O' May being repaired (having been damaged in the floods some years ago. Hopefully this will allow a circular ride/walk from Ballater.

Nice to get away. Our camper was definitely the smallest vehicle on site, but not the oldest. A very chatty gentleman had a well maintained old 'Carlite' caravan, having been a cabinet maker who had worked for the company.

Two drifters off to see the world.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
