Could the aministrators of this caravan chat room, please explain how my last thread about giving it all up has ended up on Google & Bt Yahoo search engines for all and sundry to view.????????????????????????????
I really think (if it isnt a wind up ) that you actually owe the admin an apology for leaping down their throats just because you did not understand the way the internet and search engines work ?
One of the ways I find my back posts here is by Googling a key topic word and my user name. It's faster than the site Search function.
Everything here is in the public domian and can be read by anyone....so it's wise to think twice about what you post, if you feel you don't want everyone on the planet plus your nosey neighbours to be able to read it.
Thankyou Web-master for explaining this as I wasn`t aware that these messages would end up on different search engines. As for a wind up it is not,I don`t post anywhere else,I don`t think I leapt down anybody`s throat.Imagine the shock I go on to Google to do a search to see how much I can put my van up for sale and find my thread there ?,what would you do.
Hi Westy12, I am sure no-one meant anything seriously regarding you're query, sometimes us old PC users forget that many people are only just finding out just how intrusive googlebots can be, indeedany search engine. Sometimes a good thing but also some times not.
In you're position I would probably have done the same, and I am sure many others will agree with that too.

Just think how many more people know about your pending van sale though now its on google etc lol Its like free advertising lol
I think its an important point to realise though as many people post very personal things on forums and get defensive ( sometimes abusive) when people point out that a public forum may not be the place for it. The reason is anyone can read it, some peoples user names are very close to their real names and a quick google could lead to threads on here that maybe they didnt want anyone outside of the ukcs 'family' to know about
