There are plenty of good pet forums and they cover dogs, cats, horses and all sorts of beasties. UKCS is supposed to be about Tents, Caravans and Motorhomes. I should think that "Ratty" and the others have more than enough on their plates without having to monitor yet another sub-group

I agree with the thread starter. Im a dog lover myself and im fed up of seeing posts about dogs. Someone mentioned that if you don't like the post then don't read it. But its not that easy when somone posts something along the lines of 'we have a new baby'. You start reading expecting to hear about the delivery of a new baby (human) and up pops a picture of a bloody of a an jack russel or border collie. I know on the life in general thread you can talk about anything but so many are dog dominated then why not have a seperate forum. May as well call it dogs in general.

Well actually it is not. Well not in my opinion.

UKCS is about the Owners of these units and how, why and where they choose to use them.

People choose to Camp, as oposed to any other form of holiday, for many different reasons. Likewise some people will choose to share their holidays with animals, be that human or otherwise and, when they write into this forum about their experiences, will naturally include all that camped with them.

I find it apalling that anyone would want to ostracize a fellow camper to a seperate forum just because they choose to write about their experiences of sharing their hobby with a Pet.

Next we will have seperate Forums for those that are Disabled, or those that drive 4 X 4's, or those that prefer to camp alone, etc etc.

Get a grip. This is a club for everyone, and that does mean Everyone.

Slightly harsh, no need to put it like that, and no one has really suggested such a thing.

Thank you all for the suggestion, and feedback, but the definitive answer is we won't be having a separate forum section for dog chat though, we're not a dog website, there are numerous forums specifically for that purpose ( such as the one listed above which looks very good ) and we don't want to try and become one.

If we were talking about people discussing camping and caravanning with their pets, then a separate section might be worth considering, but as the majority of dog threads are nothing to do with camping, just general stuff about dogs, those type of threads can quite happily live amongst the life in general section

Cheers
Ian
