I use the site finder pretty regularly I have noticed that quite a lot of the ukcampsite listings are wrong in particular they show the symbol of the sites accepting tents then its contradicted underneath stating Tents not accepted. In some cases it shows tents accepted then when you look on the actual sites web site its shows Tents not accepted all very confusing.

Sure I can ring to confirm but isn't that the point of the search function? I do appreciate it must be one hell of a job keeping things updated, especially as some sites change policy etc and to some extent information is reliant on peoples visits.
Can the webmaster /Admin have a look at these.

I'd agree. Though not camping last year did searching for friends and gave them details and got a bit of a row when they'd rung sites and been told no tents. I should have come on here and reported it but Mum being so unwell, just wasn't top priority

I'm thinking, though, that UKCS relies on the sites and ourselves to keep things up to date as much as anything?

Yes, they can and they will, but only if it's drawn to their attention.

Just last night I found such a site listed on here (and a neighbouring one a short distance from where its symbol suggested it was) and used the Contact Us button to inform Admin and they were corrected before midday today.

So, if you find any discrepancy either in a site's listing, or between the listing and the site's actual situation, let Admin know and they will sort it promptly.

Hiya, we would love to update the sites, but as you have not given any info on which sites have errors then I am afraid there is not a lot we can do.

As mentioned above use the contact us button found on each and every page and we can look at contacting the owners to correct any errors.

Actually referring to the first post, now I think about it, I think you are confusing the map symbol showing the site location with the symbol saying they accept tents.

The symbols on the map are simpling show the site's location. EG the tents on this map just shows the site location, not that the units they accept:







It's the symbols on the individual site pages which show whether they take tents, eg:

I think we may change the map icons, and not use tents as location markers, as this does seem to confuse the issue sometimes.
