We didn’t bother with any island shaped bedding at all. We use an Asda fitted sheet which is elasticated all the way round, rather than just at the corners, and it fits snugly and perfectly on the island bed. We also use a normal duvet and cover and tuck the bottom corners under.

We just use a small free standing bin on the floor. Our door had a magazine rack as well.
