For work related reasons, I decided to invest on the latest 5G technology and splashed out on this package from Motorhome Wifi:
https://www.motorhomewifi.com/product/5g-now-compact-pro/
I got a pay monthly unlimited 5G data SIM from Three (3) to go with it as I don't want to have to worry about running out of data while I am out and about in the van for work related reasons.
The MiFi is very good, in that it could pick up 5G signal when my phone can't (my phone is on EE).
The photo as seen in the product listing is not to scale, and the antenna is bigger in real life the size of a side plate. That is not an issue for me as I have space on the roof.
I paid for it to be installed, and they did a neat job putting the cables and router in the small recess under the TV cable inlet.
Time will tell if the equipment will work in areas known to have very little mobile signal later in the year.
However, I have high hopes that the investment is worth it, in that shel will truly be a van for work, rest and play!

So far so good for the first trip out, however, it is Salisbury C&CC and urban, therefore, the mobile signal was quite good.
The 5G antenna was able to pick up 5G signals (3) when my phone (EE) was not able to do so.
When on site in or near the van, I hooked up my phone as well as the laptop to the 5G MiFi.
Zoom meeting via the laptop and MiFi was very good quality too.
Good to have unlimited data for both 3 and EE as I don't need to worry about running out of data while going out and about, as it is a peace of mind for me for my job.

Just came back from a 6-night trip in CAMA's Thetford Forest Club Site (review submitted), and thought I should provide an update, in that the site is a mobile signal blackhole for Three (3), which meant I could not get internet access via my super duper 5G external antenna! DOH!!!
EE 4G on my phone was very weak, however, it was better than nothing like Three!
I took out 7-day site Wi-Fi as a back up, and that too was weak.
I may need to get PAYG data SIMs with O2 and Vodafone for use in my old 4G phone to get myself truly covered for all networks!
Where the router is installed is difficult for me to access. Hence it would be easier to use the old phone as an additional mobile hotspot than to try and change the data SIM in the router.

Hi DK
Just wondered if you are able to give an up date on your system now that you`ll have been using for sometime now, as I`m looking to up grade my Night Hawk?
Many Thanks
Colin
No problem.
As I have said before, in this and other threads, one needs to remember that no system can boost the signal when there is none, and there are still pockets in UK where there is no signal, zilch, Thetford Forest is one such area.
My van's external router can pick up EE 5G signal when my Samsung Galaxy S22+ cannot when the van is parked outside my house.
I know this for certain as I go into the van from time to time to hook up to the Mi-fi for work related video conferencing calls when the cleaners are in the house!
Hence I would look for sites with site Wi-fi as well as to check for mobile phone signals as part of my due diligence.
Hope this helps.
