Does anybody have any idea the simplest way I can remove from sight, a hideous, conspicuous logo on the side of my nylon awning without actually covering with material?

Easiest way is to ignore it. No one’s going to notice.
Unless it’s stitched on, I suspect you’d damage the material if you try to take it off. You’d probably get it off using a hot iron but you’d damage the material it’s stuck onto.

2024 = 20 sites / 41 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.

There are firms who extend/alter awnings who could probably cut it out and replace it with similar material.
Personally, I would simply ignore it but I do think that many firms or advertisers have very strange ideas as to what sells products.

Live with it! We've all got them in some form or other on our tents/awnings!

Firstly, the Nylon/PU coated fabric is highly susceptible to irreversible damage by many solvents that would likely remove the logo. If you don't actually damage the fabric, you are at risk of destroying its waterproof properties, and water would then wick through the fabric and enter the awning.

Inks/paints used for these types of markings have been specifically chosen to be very durable, resistant to weathering, and the more common solvents that they would be subjected too in normal use. Whether the ink/paint was water or oil based in its original liquid state for printing, it will now upon drying have likely undergone a chemical change and will no longer be vulnerable to that original solvent/carrier that was fabric safe, so something far more aggressive would be necessary to attack it. Fabric damage aside, chances are you may be able to remove the 'surface' ink/paint, but it would remain in the weave of the fabric and remain scruffily distinct but maybe only a little muted, worse case you just dissolve the ink/paint and smear it into a big smeared irremovable mess! Think of trying to clean spilt paint off clothes or carpets etc!

If you can't live with it, as suggested maybe get a tent repairer to cover it with fabric, but then you will have stitches puncturing your otherwise waterproof fabric, and the stitch lines WILL need waterproofing with something like the sealing tape used by tent/awning manufacturers on seams! That's a lot of expense and aggravation, and a future failure point, just to cover a logo!

Thanks all for your input. It is printed on the nylon so I will just have to put up with it.
