Well I have been meaning to do this Mod for a while, once completed it makes it easiar to install your EHU and also allows you to introduce your "Reverse Polarity" adaptor from in the tent instead of at the distribution post. Personly I think EHU's should be made this way in the first place.

One of the main reasons why I did this Mod was due to the fact that on my Cabanon Tent the Electric entry point is a very small zipped slot.
Probably designed just large unough for a 2 pin French style plug, although the std Commando EHU type plug does go through, but there would be no way that the EHU itself would go through the entry.
This meant that I have to drag the entire length of the EHU cable, some 20mts through the entry point in the tent, not to much of an issue when you first pitch, but after a fortnight of camping the cable would be covered in all sorts, and an attempt would be made to clean it before pulling back through the Tent.
I no longer have this hassle, and can now select from a range of cables dependent on how far away the Electric pitch post is away from the tent.
Also as Ollie mentions, my EHU is now much easier to handle.
Here is a photo of my improved shortened "Reverse Polarity" adapter, which if I am honest I have never had the cause to use, although my EHU does detect "Reverse Polarity" and displays it presence with a Red warning light.
