Went to your gallery, impressive battery array. I thought that might run your radio for a while, DAB or not. But all those batteries must be heavy, hence my back strain gag.

And to all of you DAB station geeks, we got very little choice in the new forest, BBC was good ish, and the local station too but most stations the radio could see but not tune to.

The DAB radio we have got runs off a 12v adapter, even works from the 12v ciggy lighter in car, when camping we hooked it up to the leisure battery, job done. Got it from Aldi

I sell DAB and a lot of other related nonsense besides: The coverage is still very poor in the UK. The sets, by and large, are heavy and the brutes eat batteries like there is no tomorrow.

So if you are willing to put up with that, then by all means buy one.

... and the sound quality is far inferior to FM

However us 'classic' rock aficionados are mostly deaf by now anyway

I have a DAB radio that also has FM, rechargeable batteries are the best, if you do not have an EHUI to charge them you can get a charger that charges them from your car socket, ideal to charge them when you are out driving as you would not be using them at that time.

Bought a Ferguson DAB radio from Currys yesterday!  The missus was saying "what ya want one of them for?? Another waste of money etc"  So far I havent had chance to have a play!!!  She loves it!!  Does FM as well and the sound in my opinion is superior to analogue!

For £39.99 I reckon it's a steal!
