watts divided by volts gives amps, so you should be almost right on 10A with a 2.2kw kettle. remember though that some items draw more at start up (notably TV sets - non flat panel), so you may be OK if the tv is already on before you start with the kettle, but if you are already boiling water then flick on the tv that might trip the breaker

Aldi's have a 600w travel one for a fiver on Sunday.

Is that advertised for this sunday coming, or they had last Sunday.  We want a small kettle and 1 or 2 cups is fine as its usually just OH wanting a cuppa.  me and kids usually drink water (with maybe a lager chaser).  Would hopefully take up no more room than the gas kettle and if we paid for EHU might as well use it.

Thanks everyone for all your help. This is only 2nd time camping and the kit were taking  this time is crazy! But seems like the norm. I'm just wondering now whether that toaster sounds appealing. 9 nights in Cornwall without toast can I manage it? We have one of those thingys that go on the gas bistro, but not heard many good reports. I'll make sure when I use the Kettle that I unplug everything, oh and someone mentioned tv ehmmm should I !!! OH may not be happy smallish car, roof box. Next purchase bigger kit,car and trailer. Oh no!, Muzzys missus.

Wilkinson`s have a 1.5 litre kettle for only £4.50, bought one and tried it at home first seems OK. If we get the season out of it be happy. They also had a microwave for £20 and a mini oven for £14/15

We bought the cheapest Argos cordless kettle (Cookworks £4.99) and its fab!

Boils 1.7ltrs of water in a couple of mins. No probs on a 10A EHU last weekend even with a few other things running (fridge, lights, chargers etc)

Even one night without toast is unthinkable

On EHU we use the Tesco toaster - does the bread more evenly and faster that the expensive Breville one at home.

On gas we use a couple of the little folding wire mesh toasters that Argos sell. They work very well once you get used to how quickly the bread browns. The circular ones are useless.
