If the children are old enough to sit on a bucket then take one with a lid- i use an old nappy bucket then tip it down the loo in the morning and give it a quick swill. Why use all that expensive polluting chemical stuff when the sewers are designed to cope? CArol
BWL every time! - the porta pottis are very bulky and as said before, the bucket is a very useful item during the day!
I get mine from a pound shop, make it last all season and then wave a fond farewell at the end of the year.
we done that too, bought a cheap £1 bucket (even the bright orange ones from b&q!) to go away with and dump it at the end of the trip! how frivolous! LOL
I have always used a bucket at night if too far from the loos....
but was enlightened on a recent trip to the idea of using a bio degradable bag in the bucket and placing the sawdust cat litter pellets inside the bag.
They soak up the liquid (ooohh posh) and so no spills and then you can take out the bag fasten it up and bin it...easy.....no dirty bucket and no smells..
i prefer the porta potti , there easy to empty and clean if only use them for no 1 and you dont need to empty it every time you use it , in fact we used ours for 2 weeks before it needed emptying (only used at night)! , yes they take up room but it not a problem as we have a trailer tent so plenty of room in the car , my wife is very picky and would never use a bucket !
