How come no-one's mentioned the Beauclaire yet?  I'm still twiddling my thumbs over what one to buy.

The word I heard is that Beauclaire's are many times better than a Cadac.

We use a Cadac everytime we go away with the Van and its the Mutts Nuts the very early ones used to blow out but if you placed the inner tube from a toilet roll over the tube before you fit the top it stops them blowing out

Thee later types don't suffer from this different build but in realy windy weather you need to put up a windbreak

We use our to cook everything a fry up,curries(indian/chinese)stir frys full BBQ fish chicken potions and full

They are only bad to clean if you leave them while you eat then have a drink and think about them after too long I usually finish cooking then fill the skottle with clean water if its the BBQ or grill plate I let them cool down and then use a power spray qand wash away the muck so easy

As for the other mentioned devices they are prehistoric if you buy one you then need to buy all the extras and it will cost a lot more then  the Cadac they take ages to lite and don't like the cold weather of the british winter

i have the old global set up ,and i would agree the bbq mesh is a bit of a pig ,so i use the skottel for everything ,use with cadac non stick skottel liner(£5) and you never clean the cadac again, just rinse liner in the sink

best fiver ever spent

Have a look at a Beauclaire, i too was contemplating the Cadac. The build quality, wind guard, drip cup etc. defo' make this the one to chose.

Thats what I have gone for anyways.........lol
