We bought a vango windbreak this year pitched it in garden and I couldn’t see why people were complaining about them, then we used it on out last holiday it was fine until the wind got up and it became blustery, I ended up with more ropes on it than we had on our tent. Worst of all pitched across from us were about 4 cheap wind breaks that didn’t move Oh well you camp and learn.

We bought one of these, not vango, but a cheapy one , about £22 for 16ft 16inch, lol.

reason we purchased is because of the size, they come in very small bags, about a fifth of the size of the wooden ones.

We had windy conditions and they stayed up, althogh a few pegs did come out of the ground, now and then. I would say they do thesame job as the wooden ones, the cons with wooden are hard grounds, whereas these are thin and will go into the ground easy enough, the cons of the guy rope ones, you have to assemble them.

But as said they are alot easier and lighter to carry.

Might get some delta pegs for the wind shield, that should do the trick!

Would anyone know were I could get spares poles for a Vango windbreak. Camping in Wales last weekend in hurricane force winds !!! (nearly) Had to tie windbreak to a fence which of course wasn't a good idea. Three poles bent and one snapped.

We have the large outwell one and yes they do have a lot of guy ropes but they are luminous and as we had a few deltas spare we even used them on it and it didn't move an inch. I think it was probably affraid to for fear of what I'd do to it lol!! They are very compact and although a pain in the ass to set up initially they do seem to withstand quite a hammering successfully (not literally of course)

If you have a problem stressing you, sort it. If you can't, there's no point worrying about it coz it won't make a blind bit of difference!!!! Jules
