You can't beat fishing chairs for camping... I've never had such a comfortable seat while camping,(no arse ache) and with the added bonus of adjustable legs for dodgy site ground. I love some of the fishing chairs/ beds they look really comfy. I ended up with the keenets pro carp chair from Argos because we was camping in the lakes and our camping chairs with arms took up so much space in the tent (four seats) we couldn't move,so we took a visit to cockermouth Argos and bought the fishing chairs, also because they fold up flat. We can place them all next to eachother now with room to move about. (stupid camping chairs with arms lol)

Like this one121 stupid..

Keenets pro carp 500

the bees knees and it foulds flat.

I would like a bed/chair but again takes up lots of space.

i was trying out chairs similar to the one above in the fishing shop. I had more or less settled for one when he said there was a new version out, with arms.

it doesn't spread out like the camping chairs so it is still a very compact piece of kit but not cheap.

i was about to order one when i realised for just a few quid more i could have a bed chair :)

so i did.:)

The very nice (but very slim) man in the shop used the Cypry Bedchair himself and showed how you can sit on it with the front third folded back.  As we mainly want a chair, having already bought fat airics to sleep on. we liked that idea.

It doesn't sound comfortable but the frame tucks nicely into the back and you get double support for your bum.

i'll try and take a photo later.

It has given me the confidence to go ahead and pay the balance on out trip to eweleaze because i know that i will be able to laze around in comfort and if the airics on their own aren't enough for my dodgy hip i can sleep on the carp bed :)

Make wise... Fox, Korum, Wychwood, Chub, JRC, Nash, Shakespeare are all good makes.

I have a Wychwood one for fishing and also use it for camping. I've had it 3 years, used and abused it week in week out in all weather and it's still going strong.

There are plenty of big chaps who carp fish, so there will be no trouble with the weight rating. They are made for high use and should last a long time.

The more expensive ones will be better made and will use lighter materials like aluminuim instead of steel. Still very strong, but far lighter.

The mechanism on the adjustable legs will also be better on more expesnsive models.

They will all fold flat for transporting. Best thing is to find a decent size local tackle shop and go and try them out for comfort and height adjustment.

There are some that are called 'daddy long legs' which have legs that extend to make them higher than normal for any very tall people. Mine is a normal one and I'm 6 ft 2 and have no problem with the height.

They certainly fold well. My chairbed takes up less space than my tescos chair!

Also good advice to try them out. Of two similar bed chairs on display in my local shop one was much more comfortable than the other, for me.

Also good to find out how they are for sitting in. I think the four fold ones don't make quite such a comfortable seat. Imortant if you want to to sit on them during the day as well as sleep on them at night.

my bed chair.

thumbs up to Aldwick Angling who were incredibly patient and extremely helpful and gave me a good deal on 2 chairs.

they sell my chair on line and give the rating as 140kilo (22 stone).

i have been waiting for my cypry chair to come into the shop but apparantly there aren't any more to be had (shame because it is lovely) but they are offering me a JRC X-lite for the same money.

It is a bargain.. It is rated to 16 stone which is big enough for me and it is very very light. A girly chair

I hope i like it

we will have his and hers

i think that is the one i also tried in our local shop but i found it a bit too soft, compared to the Cypry. It is the larger version of the X-lite that they are offering me. (see above)

The Shakespear Cypry elastic is looped into the mattress all the way round so when you turn the end in you have a very nice, neat seat. Not sure how that will work with the JRC as i think the elastic is a sort of web under the seat. (if that makes sense!)

If my chair comes into the shop today i will go and check it out.

oh blinkin 'ell.

i went to collect my girlie chair this afternoon (see earlier posts) and i was in two minds not to have it! .. it pitched my hip in the wrong direction.

i was in the shop for ages, getting very hot and bothered. The shop person couldn't have been nicer and i had my heart set, by now, on a bed chair.. so i took it home.

At the end of this weekend i will either have found out just how to adjust it and love it or it will be a bargain on ebay!

try before you buy is my advice!
