i thought it heated the water up as it pulled it through but if as you say its a storage heater where in my Knause is the tank where the heated water is stored???????

im a complete novice and a bit dim as well which aint the greatest credentials

please keep the replies/advice coming .....i'm finding them a great help.

I do not know about the malaga heater but every other caravan heater I have seen uses the outside aquaroll ( or similar ) and fills from that. It then heats the water up ( takes half an hour or so to do a proper job ) and then in use you mix the hot and cold water at the tap outlet. As you take water out of the hot water tank it is automatically replaced by water from the aquaroll. So with 14 litres of hot water you should just about be able to squeeze two showers out providing you use it to wet yourself all over, turn it off, then wash yourself, and then rinse yourself off with the shower. If it is a gas and electric heater you may find that you can get more hot water this way by using it switched on to gas and electric at the same time.

some details on the malaga here http://www.propexheatsource.co.uk/products02.htm

Manual for download Here http://www.propexheatsource.co.uk/pdf/Malaga_3_instructions_Issue_C.pdf

It's water tank will be internal (14 lites not that big) and the burner is pretty tiny!

Try giving it halfan hour, then try your hot water,   Mind not to scald yourself!

what i dont understand is how to fill up the internal hot water tank as the cold water in the storage container only drains out when the tap/and or shower is turned on.

fill your cold water tank,

turn on your hot tap

the hot tank will fill, then you will get water from the heater, once it runs clear of bubbles, your 'hot tank' is full.

turn off hot tap.

turn on heater

refill cold tank

have cuppa

try taps. should now get cold from cold tap and piping hot from hot tap.

Mix to prefererred temperature

shower!

Think it should work something like that!

If you get water from the hot tap straight away, it probably means the hot water tank was not drained last time.

We have been on several sites in Germany, not many of them had fully serviced pitches (water, waste and electricity).  On the continent they tend to mainly use the site facilities for showering and washing dishes, so do not use much water in the van.

But 14 litres is a good size for a HW tank, most are only about 9 litres, and I can get a good long shower out of that.  You need to get a 40litre Aquaroll or similar for your cold water, and a same size Wastemaster to catch all the waste water!
