Well the annexes arrived this morning (just as promised) and I unpacked one of them when I got home from work to get an idea of how easy/hard it might be to erect.

I must say that, when I took it out of the bag, I was extremely pleased with both its appearance and apparent quality.  I was also relieved to see that the erection process appears to be fairly straightforward and there is plenty of room inside the inner tent as well.

All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase and I can't wait to try them out for real nxt weekend.

Well, we've just got back from our "try out the annexes" weekend at our local site (a great place called Kloofs in Bexhill-on-Sea) and I can happily report that they turned out really well!!

It really was pretty straightforward to erect - just make sure you read the instructions that are attached to the inside of the carrying bag - and, once I knew what I was doing, it took about 15 minutes from start to finish.

I have tried to upload some pictures into my gallery but only seem to be able to get 3 in there so far.  Still, they should give you all a good idea of the completed job.

The first picture shows the annex from behind the caravan.  To get round the problem of only having an old L-shaped awning instead of the newer U-shaped ones, you'll see that I threaded an old piece of skirting into the caravan channel to block the between the caravan and the annex pole.  It worked a treat.

The next picture is taken from inside the awning and shows how the annex straps attach to the awning poles.  This gave a nice tight fit and, even with all the wind and rain we had this weekend, there were no leaks.

The last picture is of the 4 dogs (yes, there really are 4 - you just can't see the Jack Russell because she has burrowed her way under the pillows!!).  They decided that the annex was the perfect place for an afternoon's siesta.

All in all, a great buy.

Thanks Stuart, that looks great. Good idea about the skirting, but how did you stop it sliding down the channel?

My brother has just told me he's going to order one, his side panel unzips either side, but not across the top. He's going to roll it up inside and secure it, so i'll get to see one in the flesh too before commiting! Come to think of it, he had been doing some sorting the other day and said he had a spare piece of awning skirt, i'll have to scrounge it off him.

You can only put 3 pics in your gallery, but you can upload to somewhere like photobucket and copy and paste them into your post.

BTW those dogs look far too comfy in there

Thanks.

To keep the skirting in place, I just attached some tape to the top end and then tied it to the awning rail.

We bought one of the universal ones last year and it was great, we happened to be away last august the week it didn't stop raining and it stood proud for the week.

It is a very clever system.

Our dog didnt' get chance to try it as stepson wouldn't come out!

Great photos and I'm glad you had a good time
