Hello again,

thanks to the advice on here we managed to remove the butane regulator with no issues.

The bbq we bought already has a propane regulator fitted, and it isn't very keen to be removed from the pipe.

Is the easiest thing to do to get some propane gas instead, and is it possible to take a Calor 7KG bottle to somewhere that refills/swaps them, and ask for a propane one instead?

If not, what is the trick with getting the pipe off the regulator? We have removed the jubiliee clip, but it doesn't want to budge.

Guess I could chop the pip off, and just have a slightly shorter length of pipe to use for the butante regulator?

Thanks

Dan

Just grip the rubber part that is over the regulator with a pair of pliers and rotate - this should easily crack the joint. The pipe should have a date on it - might be time to replace

chrisn7, there's a chance Daniel B has left the building as he has never posted since 2008.

Best way to get pipe off regulator is to boil a kettle of water pour it over pipe where it joins regulator. The pipe expands and becomes flexible for a few seconds. At that point you can take it off with ease. Do same when re-fitting pour boiling water on end of pipe and put pipe back on with no effort. This has worked for me for years. Never failed only thing is being quick as pipe cools almost instantly. So don't be scared of getting burnt.
