another good reason for not having a sig!

i do use a long handled dustpan and brush in the new forest because the ground is very gritty.  Keeping a carpet clean would be a blinkin' nightmare.

I would have happily invested in the latest khyam ridgidome but there is no way i am going down the sig and fitted carpet route! There is enough work to do camping without having to get the vacuum cleaner out! I thought camping was about the great outdoors, not shake and bloddy vac!

I put my carpet out on the lawn the other day and vacuumed it.  Lol - i think my next door neighbour truly thinks i am mad now!!

Skatty, I had the smaller picnic rugs first before i got the carpet and yes, they were much easier to clean but they were forever slipping and sliding everywhere.  My carpet stays put!

Ah yes Skatty, smaller carpets are great too, have moved mine to the bedroom area now and fancied a bit more luxury in the living area, hence the tent carpet but don.t like the grass etc that comes along with them lol !
Sonja,As for my sig, I wouldn't be without it now, especially after the so called summers we have had recently. I can't think of anything worse than puddles of water in the tent but each to their own I say. Thanks guys for your input.

OMG what do you people drive???????

We struggle to fit the basics in our saloon and roof box!!!!!!!!!!!!

I`d love a carpet after this summer....but would have to leave a child at home!!!

we are common we got soft vinyl down and a tiny bit of carpet under the seating area, and use a dirt devil for that.

Oy yes Katy ,totally agree ,having to fek around buying a hoover for a tent!!! is far easier than just rearraging a few rugs now and then !!

Have to say tho ,ours never shift ,we have 4 in the Aspen ,shake them out every day and they go in the washer after every trip and they are lovely and fresh smelling and clean ready for the next trip !

These huge carpets wil die a death in a couple of years when people come to their senses

Lol, not with people like me they won't!!  I love my carpet!!

No seriously, if we go for a weekend or are going in the little tent i would take the rugs, for longer i would def always take the carpet!!  Its softer, warmer, cosier - and i wouldn't dream of taking a bloody vacuum with me either!!!

The carpet gets swept if it needs and then if its really bad it gets vacuumed in the garden when we get home - but i've only ever had to do that once!!

It has been interesting to read the different views on whether to have a vac or not. If I had a caravan or similar, I wouldn't think twice about having a vac for that. BUT since my tent is the choice I make to camp (or glamp) in, why would I not want to keep my carpet clean? My hubby suffers with hayfever,as does our daughter, so clearing the accumulated grass makes them more comfortable and keeps me fit lol !! As in all things,it is good to have a choice and a portable vac is the answer for me.A long handled broom/dustpan would not be as effective, but is fine for shorter breaks. So yes I am moving upmarket lol !! Whatever rocks your boat,as they say.Cheers guys.

If I want to do hoovering, I can stay at home and find plenty of it! The thought of hoovering on trips away makes my blood run cold.
