Thanks for the replies and links guy, knew I could count on you. Step of some sort it is then!

Rabb_uk - loved the idea, forget loading the roof box, I could have hours of fun just trying to climb walls LOL!

Kath - not yet, I have decided to wait for the new stock. So early birthday pressy next year I think! But I can get a bigger one now I have more room . Did someone mention trailer.....?

Thanks Breeze, they are beautiful dogs.

I probably missed your answer - you know how it is, you ( not meaning you personally) post so many places about so many things you usually foret which ones you are taking part in (well, I post so many things etc)  Apologies for missing it

I'm a short stuff and have a very tall 4x4 (Sorento) with roof box.

Without sounding a nerd, I have a system.  Pack the roof box first, unpack last and fill it with the gear you last need.

When loading the car, have the back seats folded down, and hey presto!! A higher platform to stand on without steps to lug around.

Hi Breeze, sorry for the delay in replying, yes we do have a Bouvier who goes by the name of 'Frank'. He's 4 years old and loves camping. How long have you had yours?

Hi Chunksta - thanks for the tip, I might give it a go. Your system could save additional equipment!

F & W - we got our first in 79 (when still at school) and apart for a 5 year gap when I lost one and swore I would never have anymore pets, I have always had at least one bouv.

Have you gone to the Bouv rally yet? I go every year with my two and generally have a great time - there are lots of fun stuff to do for both dogs and owners. Unfortunately Willow (the youngster) decided this year she was not staying in the tent and exited roughtly where the door was, unfortunately the door was closed!! Now have a tent with a special air con hole!!!  LOL.

Breeze,

We had a similar experience with our Rottie, bless!!

Goofy or what?  So much for being a Gold Standard KC Good Citizen pooch.

As for the system, we all know that you're going to end up filling the roofbox.  Go on, it's gonna happen!!  We can't help ourselves.......

Buy some sink plungers and tie them to your knees and elbows and 'sucker' your way up the side of the car, spiderman style..

Willow did fail her bronze KC good citizen award - that tells you something!! Never mind it's all part of camping with dogs.

I am going to resist filling the roofbox, although I think resistance will be futile!! Now what was it I really needed......

Breeze,

Willow will come through, I've seen young dogs fail the bronze, but fly right through silver.

It's funny how they cotton on to what's needed on the classroom mat.  The one big thing you need to watch for is that if they want to be naughty in class, they'll all do it together!!  I'm sure they whisper to each other you know.....

Oh, by the way, I've got a sneaky feeling I've come in on the Doris's sign on.

Hi Chunks,

Breeze only failed (sorry not ready) on the recall, everything else she passed with flying colours - not bad as we didnt do any formal training. But at 16 months old and being told to play with her first, it's not suprising she went wild in the paddock. She was having too much fun charging around to come back when called. Plus it was a good game run up to mum and then veer off at the last minute. Bless!! Next year we will pass!

I learnt with KN and did his recall as a recall, he came straight to me - and passed with flying colours. Nice to know at tleast one of them is a good citizen!

Right going to buy a new tent now!! Seeing as I have space in the car, I'm going for a 6 berth - just being greedy !

B
