You are discounting sleeping mats for the reason of comfort?

Myself an OH are not skinnies by any means (OH 19 stone)we use Thermarest basecamps which are extremely comfortable and warm.

There is also a luxury range http://www.thermarest.com/product_detail.aspx?pID=51&cID=3

Not cheap but with a lifetime warranty well worth the money. I was so fed up of punctures on airbeds (including the coleman) and the cold. It's a bit of a mind game as to how something that thin can possibly be that comfortable but if you get the chance to try one out do. They are amazing.

we have a double riser airbed (aldi) and a double mummy sleeping bag, roomy and cozy.

I ignored him - at the end of the day it would be boring if wewere all stick thin :)

Besides my belly is a fuel tank for my love machine ;)

Thanks for all the advice - going to see what the fishing bed chairs are like and failing that found double hieght queen by coleman for around 40 quid :D

Was thinking of  trying the self inflating mats, did nearly fall asleep on one in the camping shop, just can't remeber the make but it was suprisingly comfy!

We use Fat Airic self inflating mats - OH is 18 stone and finds his really comfy. I hate airbeds, I find them really chilly.

We had the Gelert type fold up beds and found them really uncomfortable - I also found them cold as the air circulated underneath me.

If you go for raised beds make sure that your sleeping inner is big enough for them, bearing in mind that the inners probably narrow as they go upwards.

We use Robens self inflating mats, my OH is over 18 stone and I'm no light weight either. Used many types of airbed over the years with allsorts underneath and on top etc. etc. but I was always quite chiilly and just could not sop the condensation under my side or the eventual puncture!!

The mats were expensive but my OH and I both agree we have never been more comfy or warm - will never ever use anything else now and they're so easy to set up.

I'm pleased it isn't just me! I ignore him too.  My wife & I will not get much change from 30 Stone, so people in glass houses & all that...

We used a Camping Gaz/Coleman  (they are the same unit) double airbed for years with no ill effects.  Take no offence from any of my posts please, as none is ever intended.

Steve.

I agree with Steve...

The coleman is fab

I am not very big but hubby is and without the double air chambers, I end up sleeping on a hill lol

Not expensive either

Into PVC? Get a Dandy!

it must be awful for Mr Mc V being so perfect that ge feels the need to be rude in reply to a genuine question.  My husband plays rugby and so is heavy without being fat. Most people have advised not over inflating your air bed this too works for us.  As for Mr McV he may not need slimming world but I suggest some plastic surgery may not go amiss and maybe a dentist!.

Well ill try and defend Steve i dont think he meant to be offensive he meant it light heartedly, and if you read his second entry he does say sorry i have to say it brought a smile to my face, there is no one in life who is perfect especially myself and my wife who have various imperfections and disabilities  but we are the first to make light of them as it puts others at ease who othwise would think they have to watch their p;s and q;s lifes to short to bother with all this pc stuff  enjoy life instead of worrying you only get one go at it Skiddly

I haven't been active on the forum for very long but have been browsing for a while and think I've got the tone of it. Steve Mcv''s post made me smile and that's coming from someone who really does need to join Slimming World!  I have noticed thought that some people seem to be taking offence at the slightest thing - I appreciate that's it doesn't always come across well in print but - you know it's a joke.

In answer to the post - camping mats -  OH is no lightweight and he's very comfy on one - I think it's an Aldi special. ( He has to sleep on the floor of the camper as me an DS commandeer the beds)
