We really like ours - the only negative that I can think of is that it is a bit of a pain to clean. But then it is OH's job when we are away so no problem for me!
Ah now you see that is a big positive with the Cadac it will fool OH into thinking its a bbq and it will then be strictly his domain which is no bad thing!!!
I've baked potatoes in foil on our Cadac. Never roasted a chicken but I am planning to try one this summer. As long as you have the model with the lid then I can't see why not. It's just like an oven with the lid on.

We have a skottel liner (see here) which is absolutely fabulous; reduces need for cooking oil and is simple to clean (and no carting the Cadac to the sinks to wash).
from the day i clapped eyes ona cadac i have been a fan mine is nearly 4 years old, and its used every weekend from easter to november plus during the week on nice evenings. We really have used it and although the ignition has now given up we used a piezo lighter from the van to light it , it still cooks well. i do want to get a new one this year. Wouldnt go back to charcoal bbq or anything else really

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between all the different cadac's I have seen ? On the pictures there doesn't seem to be any and as there are only the two of us I don't want something huge. I made that mistake with the Remoska I bought recently - got the grand and it is VERY big our two chicken portions look a bit lost in the bottom of it

------------- It's only my outside that is geting older - my inside is 17 !
The Cadac Safari Chef is the smallest one and the most portable. If there are only 2 of you, then this would be ideal for you. It's compact and will do everything you wish. Comes in a sturdy bag which makes it very portable.
